New Vehicle

Tonight we took delivery of a new Suburban to replace our aging old blue. It was hard to see old blue driving out of the driveway after 8 years, but concerns about mechanical failures on some lonely road in the middle of a family vacation and current availability of funds made the timing seem right. A few notable features we like about this one:
  • Temperature zones - I can be in 66 degrees and Christine in 72 degrees and everybody else in 70 degrees simultaneously. No more freezing out my baby.
  • Audio/Video - DVD, 6 disc CD changer, audio zones, and auxiliary input for my MP3 player.
  • Sunroof - Nice, but just happened to come with the car.
  • Towing Package - Absolutely essential.
  • Tire Pressure Gauge - Can view tire pressure from inside the car.
  • Remote Start - Can start the car with the remote for warm up or cool down before getting in.
  • Spare Tire - It's now under the care instead of inside. No removing the cargo to get at the tire. Not like we do that a _lot_, but it's happened a few times and what a pain in the neck.
  • Econofuel - Engine automatically down grades to using only 4 cylinders when possible to save gas.
  • Internal System Monitoring - Mentioned air pressure, but also oil age, engine age, fuel efficiency and others.

We're pretty happy with the new Suburban and are looking forward to the better fuel efficiency and peace of mind.

Awesome new rig, Kirk! I have to laugh at the 66 vs. 70 degree. I have been in the car with you in cool to cold temps and you have the AC on. Too funny.

Can't wait to hear how well it tows your boat (also could be read...when are we going to try it out with the boat?).
