I woke up this morning to the news that Tom Phillips had passed away in an airplane accident. Tom was a great leader, thinker, father, husband, mentor and friend. Tom was my formal mentor during the time when I was building a new business at Microsoft. He was always 100% focused and available. Later we kept in contact informally through his move to Amazon.
Hard to believe. Hard to accept.
