Hike: Poo Poo Point

For those not familiar with the location, Poo Poo Point is on Tiger Mountain where we live and was given the name back when there was a lot of logging going on around here. The would use very large steel cables to haul the trees around and occasionally, the cable would get plucked like a guitar and make the sound Poooo Poooo. In any case, now it's a place where paragluiders go to do their thing. This was the second time I've hiked up there. The first with a friend a few years ago from the other side of the mountain in the winter and there were no paragluiders at the time. This time we watched at least 10 launch and there

were many more flying.

Sarah, Jenny, Tyson and I went and it was a great day. Apart from a few scratches and bruises, everyone seemed to enjoy the hike and the snack time at the top while we watched the paragluiders. This was Sarah's first hike of substance, and while there were a few times she got a bit discouraged, for the most part, she was a trouper and did great. Jenny and Tyson were buddies and Sarah and I were buddies. Here are a few pictures from the day.
The last one is of a deer we saw on the way back down. Very tame, we were able to approach to within 10 feet.
This was a fun outing!
