Jenny at a Soccer Game

In the Northwest, we get used to doing things in the rain. Fortunately, it rarely gets very hot around here, and in the winter, it rarely gets very cold. But it does rain. So, we learn to adapt. Whether it’s walking in the rain, hiking and backpacking in the rain, working on the yard in the rain or like Jenny, playing sports in the rain. We do it all, and after a while, people hardly seem to notice the rain.

Jenny’s a hardy soul. During one of her soccer games this year, she slipped and fell face first into a huge puddle of water and got completely sopping wet. It happened to be a very cold day as well. She got back up, knocked some of the water off, shook off her arms and laughed a little. Then, she got back into the game. She’s a tough and determined kid. And she’s weird!

Lately, her older sister has been rubbing off on her though. I’m beginning to get a little worried. She’s been doing strange and uncharacteristic things like make-up, hairdos, nails and shopping! I’m beginning to wonder if she’s turning into a girly girl or something. Time will tell.
