This proved to be tougher than it sounded. Not because it was steep or even technical. It was rocky. Almost the entire hike is rocks and it beat our feet up terribly. By the end of the 8 mile hike, I had a blister the size of a quarter on the back of my foot and it had torn open.
The trail runs along the middle fork Snoqualmie River for most of the length of the hike. It’s a large and beautiful alpine river.
Around halfway or further, there’s a smaller waterfall that’s very pretty. We stopped her and had lunch.
This is Otter Falls. The picture doesn’t do it justice. Most of the falls are hidden in this shot because the bridge is pretty high. Jenny was feeling the joy of getting to the end. OK, we both were. The rocks are brutal on your feet here.
Toby is ready for another hike and wonders why we’re taking so long.
The money shot. The falls go way back up the mountain at least 600 feet. The actual falls are about 15 – 20 feet high.
