Well, Christine and I signed the papers today. The buyers sign today or tomorrow. The house is sold and closes tomorrow. The buyers were so excited to move in, they rented the house while waiting for it to close. We met them today as we went over to pick up some remaining items (canoe, rugs) that we had left there. They seem like a really nice couple with three young children. Basically, the same age and number as our children when we moved into the house.
Christine got a bit emotional as we realised that the place where we'd lived for the last 11 years was now sold. I had taken a last walk through two days ago and had the same reaction. As I walked through the house, memories flooded over me. Every corner, every banister, wall, stair, room brought back memories. Particularly the stairs where so much of life happens. Ever notice that? It's where we pass going up and down. It's where the kids used to throw their dirty clothes down and where they used to wrap themselves in their blankets and slide down.
Well, life moves on . . .
We're glad to close that chapter of our lives and move on to the next.
